Development of Railway Communication Systems

In this study, it has been aimed to summarize the new communication systems used in the railways in the last 30 years and planned to be passed in the coming period. First of all, after explaining the structure of the GSM-R communication system in the European Railway Traffic Management System, the 5G communication system, which is a part of the Future Railway Mobile Communication System (FRMCS), is introduced. In this study, which explains how this transition process is planned and the investments to be made at each stage, it has been aimed to examine how the system can work as a commercial structure and new strategic advantages.
